Video Duplication

Order Placement

The Florida Knowledge Network® accepts video duplication requests from school districts, community colleges and other qualified clients when the requests are submitted on a Dubbing Request Form or when accompanied by a written explanation of what is being requested. The request must be accompanied by the appropriate number of blank videotapes / DVDs to complete the order.

Order Processing

The Florida Knowledge Network® attempts to provide clients with a maximum turn-around time of fifteen (15) working days for all duplication requests submitted. The Florida Knowledge Network® warrants the quality of the duplicated video tapes as being a first generation copy of the duplication master.

If the duplicated videos are found not to meet these standards and/or found to be defective by the client, The Florida Knowledge Network® will replace the defective videos within ten (10) working days from the date of receipt of the returned videos from the client.

Shipping

The Florida Knowledge Network® packs all media appropriately and uses DHL for all shipping. This provides the client with a system for tracing lost and/or late shipments. It also means that The Florida Knowledge Network® can only ship to a street address, not to PO boxes. Orders are shipped to the address of the official agency ITV contact only.

Blank Media

For DVD duplication only DVD-R or DVD-RW are accepted. All others will be returned. Jewel cases or sleeves must accompany the blank media. Please do not send Fuji, Maxell or Memorex brand DVDs; they are not compatible with our system. Verbatim brand is recommended.

Blank media is to be furnished by the client. Video tapes should be new. In general, program masters are arranged for 2-hour tapes (T120).

Dubbing Masters

The Florida Knowledge Network® assembles a dubbing master collection which combines the original programs onto DVD duplication masters that reflect the program sequence. The number of programs per master is dependent upon the program lengths (see chart below). When a single program duplication is requested, the entire master on which that program appears will be duplicated.

Number per tape or DVD Master

DVDs can accomodate up to 2 hours of video programming. That may translate to a single 2-hour program, two 1-hour programs, four 30-minute programs, etc. Specific information regarding how many masters are needed to duplicate a series, or on which master one might locate a particular program, visit the Online Video Library and search for that series or program.

Copyright

The Florida Knowledge Network® complies with all copyright laws governing the duplication video. For dubbing requests involving client-provided masters, it is the responsibility of the client to pay all royalties and/or license fees required for copyrighted content, whether or not the copyright patent rights are expressly stated. It is the responsibility of the client to protect and hold harmless the Florida Department of Education against suit on account of alleged or actual copyright infringement.
